Apple Crumble

September 30, 2019 — Jesse Harris

mum is visiting today and is making an apple crumble with a bunch of spare apples.

she lost the recipe years ago so makes it up on the go, so I thought I'd record it here for my own benefit.

ingrediants

  • six large cut into 8ths (or 8 small apples)
  • half teaspoon of ground clove
  • quater cup of water
  • one + half cups of plain flour
  • a couple of tablespoons for sugar
  • half cup of sugar
  • 125 grams of butter (4 ounces mum says)
  • half cup of desecated coconut

method

place apples in a pot with water and a couple of tablespoons of sugar and sprinkle with clove
put on low heat until soft like you would boil potatoes
add flour in a medium size bowl rub together with butter
mix in sugar and coconut

preheat oven to 180c

once apples are cooked, place into baking tray
press down mixture on top of apples and bake in oven for 30-40 mins or until it browns on top.

serve with custard and cream
